I've been using one of the first standard Milburn Wedges with my 12" for
some time now. Even with an 80mm refractor plus cameras, etc, this wedge
has silky smooth movements. It is so good that I'm replacing the std wedge
on my 8" LX200 with this one and the 12" is going to be put on super-heavy
duty Milburn Wedge #1 when it is delivered in a couple more weeks. I
consider anything better than the std Milburn Wedge as overkill, but there
is no such thing as "too stiff" when supporting these scopes <g>.
I also have a couple sets of his dovetailed ring mounts which support the
80mm refractor and a 4" SCT on these scopes. These are not only very
stable, but beautiful and relatively inexpensive. Highly recommended.
