Well, I may have solved this one by further experimentation.
I finally figured out how to do the so called refined polar
alignment, and it got me really close to all the objects
I was looking for. I guess my problem was that I just wasn't
getting Polaris aligned closely enough in my initial set up.
Maybe this is a seasonal thing. That is, it is harder to do
in the summer months. Don't know, but when I went through
the steps to refine the original alignment, things improved
greatly. I then popped in my CCD camera and was about to
start an imagint session and accidentally loosened the connector
to the Meade scope. Sooooo I got to start over with alignment.
Yikes! Oh well, things are nevertheless going better.
