Hi all,

I'm trying to decide whether to purchase the de-rotator or wedge for an
LX200 10". After looking through the archives I still have some questions:

(1) Apparently the de-rotator should not be used within 40 degrees of
zenith. Why not? I would have thought you could get a lot closer than that.

(2) Neither PEC nor backlash compensation work in altazimuth mode. Does an
autoguider negate this disadvantage?

Please feel free to enlighten me on any other aspects of the de-rotator.
