I recently found out about MAPUG and signed up for your mailing list.
Forgive me but unfortunately I do not own an LX200. I fell for the
December 1991 liquidation of MEADES older LX6 model (8 " SCT, 2080/50).
Now I'm stuck! Nonetheless I hope someone can help me.
I bought a SureSharp focusing adapter several years ago, have tried
to use it five or six times, and cannot seem to get knife edge focusing
right. I'm using an 8" SCT with a Celestron Off Axis Guider. While my
tracking is good (concentric star images) most of the shots are
blurred. I get the reduction of lines until only one fully blanks out
the airy disk but there's a trick out there somewhere and I'm missing
it!

If you can offer insight it might be best to directly e-mail me at
edmonds2@ix.netcom.com.

Thanks,

Richard L. Edmonds

P.S. Is there a news or chat group for general topics?
