Frank, the limit on a 10baseT segment is 100 METERS, not feet,
and you can have up to 5 segments by using hubs as repeaters.

Not only that, but once it's on the internet, you can control
it from half way round the world.

But, getting Ethernet to work can be just as hard as getting
SCSI to work.
