Recently a thread broke out on the sci.astro.amateur newsgroup which implied
that our group (MAPUG) was primarily negative towards the LX200.

In the survey that 32 people responded to, you have overwhelmingly confirmed
my suspicion that although the LX200 may have it's share of problems, we are
generally in love with our scopes.

29 People responded that they LOVE their LX200

2 People liked it

NOBODY was disappointed in their unit, although there were one or two that
were in for repair

and 3 people responded otherwise, two asking for a more broken down survey
(which I would not be able to manage at this point, a few other ppl
mentioned this as well in addition to their vote), and one waiting for clear
skies to try it out!

Overall, 85% of those who responded indicated that they loved their scope.

I believe this answers a few questions that have been posed to the mail list
before as well.
