Out of pure curiosity does the gearbox have lots of grease in it.
Is it practical to fill the box with grease to cut down
the noise or have they done that already. Are the output
shafts sealed to stop leakage out onto the encoders etc etc.

Even though I think most of the noise is due to the bell effect
of the aly casings I have often wondered if thicker grease could
be used.
