Dear astro - friends,
Im very frustrated, because my telescope mounting has broken.
I have a little 4, 1/2 inch. newton (114 mm. f/8),
with a little wood tripod. I observed a lot of ngc/messier object until now.
I taken also a large number of photos of deep sky object,
guiding hand and putting the camera upon the tube...
It is very hard, but it is possible.
two weeks ago we went to observe in a good place (seeing 1 !)
and we planned to take some photos.
At a moment the R.A. screw broken for ciclical load,
(the weight of camera is about 1 kg.)
and now Im trying to repair it.
In the meantime I though at different ways to solve the problem.
One of them is to buy a big dobson.
The reason is that I have not the possibility to buy
a telescope like meade or celestron, because here in Italy
prices are very high; besides a lot of accessoires would be necessary
(ccd, off axes guide, telextender, reticle illuminated oculars...)
What do you think about a dobsonian telescope ?
My interest is to watch deep sky object.
Do you know any site where to find prices of dobson telescope ?
thanks in advantage
