Don,
I did not swap out the 201 and the eyepiece in the straight through
position. The ETX does not come with any of the appropriate adapters to
mount an eyepiece in this position. Meade makes a 45 degree adapter for
this purpose and is supposed to come standard with the spotting scope
version of the ETX. Since I just go mine and it is an astronomical
version I did not have this option to try. I also did not use the
extension on the #64 T Adapter and do not know if this would help solve
but will give it a try. I did try a 12.4mm non reticle eyepiece in the
90 degree position and it can be withdrawn slightly to obtain parfocal
focus with the 201. Ill let you know if I get any other hints that
work.
