And while you're at it explain how the focuser works in the first place.
I've tried to remove the backlash per Meade's instructions but so far have
succeeded only in making it worse. The instructions say to turn the
focuser all the way in one direction (I forget which) until it stops.
Well, mine just gets stiff, it doesn't really hit a stop. At least given
the amount of force I've used so far. How hard should I turn it to find
the end? Do I need to use a pipe wrench? !! Then the instructions say to
loosen the set screws and turn some more. This makes no sense to me; what
good does it do to turn the knob with the screws loose?
