Not true for the Celestron reducer (and I believe the Meade one is
virtually identical). It screws onto the visual back.

The Lumicon Giant Easy Guider/Viewer replaces the visual back and
(presumably, I've never actually seen one) eliminates the vignetting you
get with the smaller reducers.
