Ill try your suggestion. I would much rather fix the problem this way
than replace parts unnecessarily. I hope it works.

I had the same symptoms as you. I found that all I had to do was
>plug and unplug the **inside dec motor cable** a few times to make a
good connection again. This is the cable that the dec motor cable from
the LX base to the fork arm plugs into. Look on the inside of the fork
arm where the dec cord plug is as you will see it. If this fixes it , I
guess you have some spare parts coming
