I am using the True Technology Flip Mirror with my MX5 CCD camera and LX10
scope. I am very happy with it. It has proved extremely useful in helping
focus my CCD and centre objects in its field of view. True Technology sell
a number of different adapters that allow you to attach each end of the flip
mirror to just about anything. The flip mirror and adapters have been
designed to achieve a low profile in order to minimise the amount of
backfocus required to be able to focus your camera with the mirror attached.
I use my flip mirror in combination with a f/6.3 focal reducer, a celestron
OAG and I am still able to focus the camera. There was no problem getting
the flip mirror eyepiece parfocal with the camera and I have not noticed any
sign of flexure. True Technology also sell a version of the flip mirror
that includes a filter holder. This allows you to change filters without
moving the camera or changing focus. It therefore provides a relatively
inexpensive way to do tricolour imaging. The only word of caution I would
give is that this flip mirror is specifically designed for CCD cameras. I
believe it may cause vignetting if used with a 35mm camera. For a full
description of the True Technolgy Flip Mirror check out the equipment page
on my website. There is also a link to the True Technology home page there.
