(1) With PictorView 6.4 (release) there appears to be no logic for "safe
shutdown" of the camera. Is the 416XT "hot-stop proof"? When I disconnect
(SCSI), it just says it's OK to turn off the camera or exit the program.
Period. I don't want hot pixels or other damage from a hot-stop.
(2) It seems as thought the cooling is capable of a 40 degree delta-T...
between the high and low sides! At 25 deg C ambient, the camera can only
attain 0 deg C cold side (with a 39 deg C high side) at 100% power. Is this
right? Or is my camera weak at cooling? If the 416XT's 2-stage thermo
cooling is that weak, I'm screwed... Summer nights here can be 30 deg C or
more.
P.S. - I had a good night with the camera. And I discovered why I failed
with the OAG... I somehow dropped the finder scope eye-end dust cap down
the OAG tube!!!!! It was real black :-) Tomorrow is another night...
