Hey Josh.

Im new to telescope too.. but I made a lot a reserch before I bought
mine.. and I expect you do to the same.
I finally chose 8"LX50 f/10. and I think it the best scope that I can
allow myself.

I live in the city too,, but there are planets that you can see too.
8" will always be better from 7" dont you think? so if youre going to
buy a telescope that will be for a life time take the 8".
Also it will fit to make some astrophotos, and if you someday leave your
town, and move to a country, or take it to a trip to the US deserts, the
8" is the minimum that you could see Spirals of galaxies.. (you wont be
able to see them with 7" just blobs, as much as I know.)
