I would never let my scope out of my sight when traveling! No one ,except for the aficionados really respects these instruments (even if you post the contents and fragile on the outside). If you are traveling by Air purchase a seat for the thing if you have to! I cringe at the thought of anyone carrying the scope around except for me. Then again I am the type of person who always has to drive.
