Thanks, everybody for the tremendous response. I think I will go with a PVC
pipe filled with sand inside a steel pipe with the space between filled with
concrete which can also hold the anchor rods. Something like Dick Green's
2-plate pier wedge adaptor will hold everything together.

I hate to disappoint the incomplete crackpot (R.P.), but I don't think I can
fit any kitchen utensils into the construction. {:-^)
