Subject: 201XT and Summer Temperatures?

The good reports relating to the 201XT have all apparently been made during the
(Northern Hemisphere) winter months. I wonder if anyone has any further
reports of test carried out at warmer temperatures now that the summer months are
here? IMHO it should not perform as well (no cooling) but if its performance
is downgraded is it still acceptable ie what mag star does it need?

Where I live rarely goes below freezing at any time, but it is not
uncommon to have hot days where the temp never goes below 30C (86F) even during
the middle of the night and early morning. This means to be useful it has to
guide on fairly faint stars through an off-axis guider at these temperatures.

Ian

PS I've posted a very similar email to this twice about 12 hrs ago but it has not appeared
on the list so I'm posting again - sorry if you now get two or three copies ... but this one
has just a little more explanation anyway!
