Bad luck with your back Steven..I did this in my twenties mucking about with a car engine and I am still suffering now years later it never goes away.I am about to swap my 10inch for a twelve and the space in my observatory is limited for moving around. It crossed my mind that I could use three metal or thick wood poles in a a "Teepee" pole shape with a simple small rope type 1 ton car hoist.Has anybody attempted or tried this as a quick and simple method of mounting any heavy scope.
