Ralph,
The first Telrad I owned was a dozen or so years ago and was on a C8.
At that time the Telrad came with a long piece of cord and the
suggestion to just tie the base plate to the OTA. Looked like Hell
and worked like a charm. Now for my suggestion. Go ahead and use
the double sticky tape. When you want to remove the sticky stuff
at some future date, peel as much of it off as you can with your
fingers then spak the remainder with WD40. DON'T let any WD40 get
on or into the optics. After a couple of minutes of soaking, use
a clean piece of thin wood, ie, tongue depresser or ice cream stick,
to scrape the residue off. The wood will save your thumb nail. :-)
I know this method works...I just did it yesterday.
