Dick -- I have an st7 and I like it a lot. I chose it based on three
things.

1. It is the only one with the second CCD for guiding. I feel this is
very important.

2. Just about everyone in the CI$ Astroforum recommended it to me,
most of whom also had experience with the st5 & st6.

3. After studying a years worth of images in Sky and Telescope,
Astronomy, and CCD magazine, I was very impressed with images taken
with it. I am convinced that the 9 micron pixels are the big factor
here -- plus you can bin to 18 or 27 microns as needed.

It comes with CCDOPS3.5 for DOS (works great) and CCDOPS for Windows
which is a watered down Sky Pro (Software Bisque).

Now the good info: Visit the SBIG home page at http://www.sbig.com/
There you can subscribe to the SBIG users group, download the above
software, and get all kinds of product info.

I'm very inexperienced with it as my scope was down for almost a
month while reparing a dec drive problem, and the weather has been
terrible. I received my 12" lx200 in January -- anain not too much
experience with it. Please consider me as a beginner.

I'de be happy to answer more questions that you might have.
