Yes, a plywood/masonite dome is heavy (I'd estimate it to weigh
approximately 250 pounds but it rolls on twelve 2.5 inch casters. I used to
pull it around with handles when I was younger but I have since installed a
.75 hp electric motor with a drum switch in the dome and another one in the
control room below. In addition I have wired sensor switches to a
meteorological wind direction meter mounted on the wall in the control room
to indicate the direction the slit is pointing
