Tom,
Thats impossible because the screw is cut left-handed. When you turn the
screw counter-clockwise, this pushes the mirror away from the eyepiece and
towards the corrector. This also removes the back-lash. This has always
been a good practice unless you want to look at your feet than your method
should work just fine...;-))
