Randy..

Your 10" will be able to detect a wide variety of objects, especially from a
dark sky site. Assuming your mirror is a sharp as most, it will on stable
nights allow for magnification over 400x on planets/Moon...showing a wealth of
detail. (on only the most stable nights) Double stars have been resolved to
around .7 arc seconds with very high power even with my 8". (I have gone to .8
arc seconds) Most of the time, seperation becomes "easy" at 1.2" and over,
again with stable skies. I find the resolution of the doubles somewhat "dirty"
compared to my refractor though.

With a UHC filter(or OIII with lower power) you will be able to pick out the
brighter planetaries, and gaseous nebulas from the city, and while some may be
difficult to detect, you will be able to find THOUSANDS of these objects from
the dark sky site, esp. with the filter. Almost anything is in reach with
practice.

The problem I ran into at first was expectation, especially with galaxies.
