I finished my Pier mount for my 12" lx200 in mid June. Since then the
scope, pier, and work shelf have been covered with a large "E" size
Desert Storm aluminized mylar "bag" with excellent results so far.
When covered, a 7.5 watt light bulb has worked great as a "dew
Preventer". The bag is held tightly shut at the bottom around the
pier with an elastic strap to keep out bugs, birds, etc. Measured
temperatures inside the bag have not exceeded 125 degrees F here in
S.E. PA.

Obviously it too soon to draw long term conclusions from this short
term data.
