Fuse those LX200 field power supplies!

Todays news story about the probable recall of 23 million Fords because of
12V batteries shorting at the ignition switch and setting the vehicles on
fire is a good reminder that 120V AC is not the only danger when powering
your LX200s! Please make sure that when youre prepping that 12V or 18V
battery pack for the Texas Star Party (hope to see some of you there!) that
you remember to fuse it thoroughly; i.e., if your scopes power supply has
separate charging circuits from the delivery-to-LX200 circuit, fuse those
puppies as well. Even a 7 amp-hour cell can deliver enough amps in a short
situation to not only damage your LX200s electronics, but also start a nice
fire underneath your scope, etc., etc. Not good since we know that fires
during darktime at TSP are strictly prohibited!! :-)) ..George
