Well, MAPUG stands for Meade Advanced Products User Group. The AP line
includes other 'scopes than the LX200.

The cable is very easy to build. There are commercial, shareware and
free programs to talk to the LX200 through the serial port.
Try looking at http://www.astromart.com/meade.html

Some of the 2" eyepieces have enormous fields of view....
I've got a Televue Big Barlow that I'm very satisfied with. If you will
be buying 2" eyepieces that you will want to use with a barlow, then
the 2" barlow makes sense. It will come with an adapter to use 1 1/4"
eyepieces.
