I previously stated that I could never see the "airy disc" during a star
test. Let me correct myself. I can never make out any "diffraction rings".
Was able to star test last night. Skies were clear but seeing was very poor.
Under high power the de-focused image was just boiling,no conclusions.
However w/26mm eyepiece when I de-focuse I always get the following result.
Within the dark centered area(33% obstructed) there is always a sort of fan
blade affect more so on one side of focus but never the less its there on
both sides. Does this fan blade pattern ring any bells. I think I recall
reading something about it somewhere just not sure where.
Thanks
John
