As a novice, I am just beginning to realize how long it does take to cool
down an SCT--- and mine never comes in the house! I didn't recognize these
tube current effects for what they were until they were pointed out to me by
one of my club members. (Brain picking is just one of the many many reasons
for joining a local astroclub!) I now know that you can't go out for a
couple of hours and expect to have good seeing.
For observing, I have to go about 1/2 mile to get away from my trees. Of late, I have taken to loading up the car hours before I 'think' I might want to go out, with the scope on the back seat and the windows wide open. It has obviously made a big difference in cool down time at the scope and sooner good seeing. ************************************************************************ Rob Roy a5817394@mcmail2.cis.mcmaster.ca LX200 Joysticks ************************************************************************
