Subject: OT: Was It A Meteor?

While out stargazing last night my observing partner and I saw a ball of
light streak across the sky before disintegrating. The odd thing about it is
this: the thing had more "sparks" around it than a meteor, and the whole
thing was tinted a strong bluish color right before it self-destructed. I
respect the experience of my fellow MAPUGers, and I'd like to know what you
all think it might have been. Thanks for tolerating this off-topic post.
Clear Skies! Brady
