One possibility is the Losmandy GM-11 with a Quadrant Systems drive --
just about 4 grand, and it will work from TheSky. Quadrant says that they
will have a much heavier mount soon for about the same money, but your point
is well taken -- $4000 would just get one's foot in the door.
